Partnership with Everllence: SpiraTec to Supply Key Technology for EGR/CCUS Project in Indonesia

  • 11. May 2026

Speyer, May 11, 20226. On behalf of Everllence SE (formerly MAN Energy Solutions SE), SpiraTec is handling the technical implementation of the automation for new CO2 compression facilities in Indonesia. The project’s goal: enhanced gas recovery through carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) to maximize gas production and reduce carbon emissions.

In this Enhanced Gas Recovery through Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (EGR/CCUS) project, SpiraTec AG is contributing its expertise in control and switchgear technology. The project utilizes three gear compressors supplied by Everllence, which enable the separation of CO2 from the natural gas stream and its compression to over 150 bar. It is then injected into underground formations for enhanced gas recovery (EGR) and long-term storage. In this way, CO2 is not simply released but actively utilized to increase extraction efficiency – an innovative approach that offers both economic and environmental benefits.

Technology for energy supply and CO2 reduction

For the compression facilities, SpiraTec is supplying three identical control cabinets, each equipped with PCS 7 control software and designed for a single machine line. Each control cabinet contains several redundant S7-400-H controllers from SIEMENS, safety-related components, and systems for vibration and load monitoring. The solution is complemented by a Load Sharing Master Control Cabinet. This ensures high system availability – a decisive factor in projects of this magnitude.

Manufacturing is carried out in close collaboration with the subsidiary onoff automation services gmbh. Prior to delivery, all systems undergo 100% testing using a specially developed test board that is precisely tailored to the project’s requirements. Delivery of the control cabinets and PCS 7 control software is scheduled for June 2026.

“We are proud to support an international flagship project in the field of CO2 reduction together with Everllence,” explains Lukas Huser, Senior Project Manager Industrial Automation Services at SpiraTec AG. “With our control and switchgear technology, we are helping to successfully combine energy supply and CO2 reduction. For the SpiraTec Group, this project is an example of how cutting-edge technology from Germany makes an impact in international projects,” says Frank Jahr, Managing Director of onoff automation services gmbh.
