Expansion of Photovoltaic Systems in Speyer and Wunstorf Strengthens Sustainable Energy Supply

By expanding our photovoltaic systems in Speyer and Wunstorf, we are making targeted investments in a sustainable, independent, and future-proof energy supply. Together, the two sites have an annual electricity production of approximately 148 MWh and a total storage capacity of 212 kWh.

For SpiraTec, renewable energy is more than just a buzzword. With the successful commissioning of a new photovoltaic system at the Wunstorf site and the expansion of the existing system in Speyer, we have significantly expanded our capacity for on-site electricity generation. The goal is to operate our properties as self-sufficient as possible in terms of electricity while actively contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

A key factor in the success of both projects was the high level of in-house work performed by our teams. While the installation of the solar modules was partially supported by external partners, essential project components were implemented by employees of the SpiraTec Group and onoff automation services gmbh themselves. These included, among other things, the electrical installation, control cabinet construction, control technology, commissioning, and registration with the grid operator.

More Power and Storage Capacity

At the Wunstorf site, a new photovoltaic system with a capacity of 39.6 kWp was installed. It generates approximately 38,000 kWh of electricity annually and is expected to achieve a self-sufficiency rate of 80 to 90 percent.

Further investments were also made in Speyer. Additional solar modules increase electricity production to approximately 110,000 kWh per year. At the same time, storage capacity was expanded by about one-third to a total of 168 kWh. This allows an even larger share of the solar power generated to be used directly on-site, for example, to charge electric vehicles or to supply the site during the morning and evening hours.

Two Locations, One Common Goal

These projects demonstrate how technological expertise and sustainability can work together successfully. Through the targeted expansion of renewable energy, we are strengthening our energy security, reducing energy costs in the long term, and laying the groundwork for the responsible use of resources.
